Future Developments

An upgrade of the treatment process at Cronulla STP is currently being undertaken and is planned for completion in the year 2000. The upgraded STP will include:

  • secondary and tertiary treatment for flows up to 171 ML/day;

  • primary treatment for flows up to 432 ML/day;

  • fine screening for flows up to 432 ML/day;

  • disinfection (UV) of all flows.

  • Connection of Bundeena and Mainbar to existing system (Sydney Water Corporation 1998f).
